Description
The hardest part of watching the downfall of Candelles in the last few years has been slowly letting my amazing team go. We were once a busy, laughter filled warehouse and we weren't just a team, we were a family. We celebrated birthday and babies, we hugged each other on hard days, and we hyped each other up on our most chaotic days. We believed in the idea of focusing on solutions, not problems, and I never saw more people embody that type of mindset better. We even cared so much about each other that if someone would accidentally break a candle or a jar, they'd immediately get a five minute breather (because they'd always feel so bad!), and someone else would clean up the mess for them.
Aside from myself, there's just two employees left. Well, more like one and a half because the second team member comes in and out when needed. But more than anything, something the two of them have expressed to me on repeat is "We're with you until the wheels fall off.", and despite loss of hours and absolutely uncertainty of our future for months on end, they stuck true to that and are still by my side finishing out this year.
I wish I could do more for them, and losing their jobs right around Christmas isn't what anyone deserves, especially some of the most dedicated, generous, humble, bright hearted humans to exist. If you'd like to contribute to their Team Tip Jar, all funds that go into the tip jar over the next week will go directly to Sam and Todd as an extra Christmas bonus. I don't even think they know I'm doing this, and they'd probably insist I take it down because it's not needed. But that's exactly why I think it is!
